How I Can Help

A Journey of Growth

Therapy is a personal journey and an investment in yourself. Choosing to engage in therapy is a gift to your future self — a testament to your courage and dedication to your inner life.

Both counselling and psychotherapy focus on helping you overcome personal difficulties and move toward positive change. The main difference between them lies in the depth of exploration and the length of the process.

Counselling is generally shorter-term and helps you understand your emotions and thoughts so you can use them effectively in problem-solving. Psychotherapy is usually a deeper, longer-term process, exploring early experiences and helping you see how they influence your current life.

Therapy provides a reflective space to expand self-awareness, supporting your growth over the course of regular sessions. It offers:

  • A safe and confidential space to explore difficult issues
  • Time to reflect on and understand your patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving, and to begin changing those that no longer serve you
  • Opportunities to develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others

Because therapy involves examining your life, working through challenges can sometimes bring emotional pain. Yet this process can also be deeply liberating, helping you move toward lasting change.

This is why building a strong therapeutic relationship is so important. Together, we create a space where you can explore at a pace that feels safe, with my full attention, respect, and professional insight. Our work is guided by a clear contract and ethical principles, ensuring your safety and confidentiality throughout the process.

Online Therapy

Online therapy room

Online therapy gives you the flexibility that in-person sessions often can't. You can join sessions from your home, office, or even your car—whenever it fits your schedule. There's no commute, no traffic, and no time spent in waiting rooms — just therapy that fits into your real life.

Research shows that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person care, and many of my clients actually prefer it because it allows them to stay consistent even with demanding schedules. When you're already overwhelmed, therapy shouldn't make life harder — it should make support more accessible.

Sessions take place through a secure Zoom video platform. You can join from anywhere you feel comfortable and private. All you need is a device with a camera and a reliable internet connection.

What Therapy Looks Like?

I schedule therapy in six-session blocks, and at the end of each block we review our work together. This gives us both a chance to reflect on how the process has been, discuss whether continuing therapy feels right, and ensure that our work together meets your needs. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of this process, so building a strong, collaborative connection is essential. I focus on creating an atmosphere of safety, trust, and mutual respect, and I take your experience of our relationship seriously.

I have regular supervision and practice self-care, so you never need to worry about being "too much" or about hurting my feelings. Whatever you choose to share, I will attend to it with respect and care.

In our ongoing sessions, we'll focus on the topics that matter most to you and explore patterns, challenges, and opportunities for change. I may suggest practical tools or exercises to try between sessions, helping you put insights into action. I'll also check in regularly on what's working and what isn't, so we can adapt the sessions to best support you. I strive to create a friendly, open space where your thoughts and suggestions are always welcome.

When we decide to bring our work to a close, I often suggest having one final session together. While it's not required, this session can be really helpful — giving you a space to talk about any feelings that come up around ending therapy, or to address anything important that might otherwise be missed. It's a way to leave the work we've done together with clarity and closure.

I work with psychotherapists, counsellors, and trainee counsellors, offering supervision that is reflective, supportive, and creative. I draw inspiration and insight from my own clinical supervision, which helps me reflect on my work, develop professionally and personally, and support my wellbeing. In supervision, I aim to create the same safe, reflective space for others.

I work integratively, drawing on a range of approaches to encourage insight and creativity, with Transactional Analysis (TA) as my core modality. I hold a UKCP-validated Diploma in Supervision and offer online individual supervision, typically in monthly one-hour sessions (with the option to meet more frequently, subject to availability). My current fee is £60 per session.

As with my client work, you can expect a professional, discreet, and supportive supervision service, offered in an atmosphere of trust, mutual respect, and thoughtful reflection.
